Pharmacists

Mr Andrew Melvin

Practice Pharmacist

Pharmacy services are taking a crucial role in Scotland; most GP surgeries now have access to a Pharmacist with advanced clinical skills. Pharmacists offer support to patients and clinicians in respect of all prescribed medication.

The pharmacist’s role is to optimise pharmaceutical care provided to patients and to promote safe, rational and cost effective prescribing within the practice. This includes re-authorising repeat prescriptions, reviewing special requests and processing hospital discharges and clinic letters. Pharmacists also conduct medication reviews and can answer questions you may have about your medicines.

Our Pharmacist may contact you to discuss and advise you on your medication.
